Pokemon has always been big. Since it’s North American launch in 1996, kids of all ages have been catching the critters on all of Nintendo’s mobile consoles and in other formats as well. But now McDonald’s is making things even easier for us collectors. Starting in November and into December, McDonalds’ in North America will be featuring the chance to collect digitally, in TGC format, and through Happy Meals. Each Happy Meal will contain one of eight Pokemon figures: Pikachu, Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Lugia, Rayquaza, Mega Latios, Wobbuffet, and Hoopa. A dozen cards will also be made available. The big draw here; however, is their offer to add in a pokemon for players of Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y. Gamers will have the ability to catch Hoopa in their games by linking up to the Nintendo Zone in participating restaurants. Now, if that doesn’t make us start collecting again, I don’t know what else will.
