Even though we’ve only just begun to scratch the revolutionary surface of the latest Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft have already started work on the next main entry into the franchise. The information was confirmed by Ubisoft after Kotaku got ahold of a few screenshots. Ubisoft, rather than just leaving it to speculation, confirmed that the screens are indeed from the next entry into the series.
“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public,” Said Ubisoft. “The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”
So while they are confirming that the screens are indeed for the next big project, somebody in the office might not be getting a Christmas card. According to one of the screenshots found by Kotaku, the game may be titled “Assassin’s Creed: Victory.” With the latest iteration getting attention for all the wrong reasons, let’s hope that they can fix up Unity and Rogue before moving on to the next chapter.
