Just hours ago Ratloop Asia producer and studio head Sian Yue Tan announced that Rocket Birds: Hardboiled Chicken will be available February 12, 2013 for the PlayStation Vita via the PlayStation Network and is expected to be priced at $11.99. HardBoiled Chicken was previously released on the VITA in Asia this past Holiday season. Being quite popular in Asia, the VITA version of Rocket Birds was ranked number three in PSN’s top ten most downloaded list for that region.
If you are unfamiliar, the game follows a protagonist known as the “Cock Of War”, whom allegedly survived being boiled alive as a fetus as the title suggests. This mean motherclucker is the leader of a group of oppressed poultry that rebel against their evil penguin oppressors. The game features a single player campaign with fifteen story connected mission with sections that contain a challenging Hardboiled difficulty that grants you limited ammo, a Uzi, a Desert Eagle, and let’s not forget a BIG KNIFE! Rocket Chicken also takes advantage of the VITA’s touch screen and contains Ad-Hoc online Co-op support that has its own campaign separate from the single player campaign.
Ratloop Asia and The PlayStation Network plan to give owners of the PlayStation 3 version of the game an extra incentive to grab this title by offering them a discount for the VITA variant. Players can also unlock the new “Sniper Budgie” character if they have already downloaded the demo for the PS3, as well as unlocking the Agent-H Budgie who is modeled after the rock band New World Revolution, whose music is featured in the game; A must have for a true fan.
