Do you guys remember what Quantum Conundrum is? You should, because we only reviewed it on Monday, and I previously told you how the basitarist for the band The Presidents of the United States of America (I copied and pasted that again) Chris Ballew created all the funk for it.
Well Square Enix and Iam8bit have fused their creative juices into a cocktail of viral marketing and created a game-show parody based on, very loosely of course, Quantum Conundrum. It’s called “The Super Dimensional Quantum Learning’s Problems and Solutions Game Time Spectacular!!” and you can watch Episode One right now.
Hosted by Kevin Pereira, contestants are picked from the audience and must compete with Professor Quadwrangle’s Interdimensional Kinetic Entity pet, better known as Ike, in one of the dimensions from the game. The aim of the game is to win of course, but what they win isn’t precisely clear. It’s a real conundrum, right?
In the debut episode Scott Taylor is the lucky contestant plucked from the crowd and he’s transported to the Fluffy dimension, where bizarre things happen with equally bizarre logic. At least Ike looks cool, that’s probably where half the budget went. That, and the bunny suit.
Quantum Conundrum has players take on the role of a young boy who watches his uncle’s house explode. Upon entering the house he cannot find his uncle – He does, however, find the IDS: the Interdimensional Shift Device! Players use the IDS to switch between dimensions in real-time to solve complex puzzles and to ultimately find Professor Fitz Quadwrangle.
If you’re curious to see what other creations have manifested from Iam8bit you can check them out at their official website or on Facebook. They love their video games!
