Xbox+Windows Phone=Integration App

There’s a cool, new feature of debatable value coming to an Xbox near you, assuming you own an Xbox and/or your concept of near includes your neighbor’s son’s bedroom, which is a little creepy by the way—I’ve been meaning to call the police. Anyways, in an Xbox promo video, there’s a sequence which demonstrates some integration between Windows Phone and Xbox using something called the Xbox Companion App, which I imagine won’t be available on other platforms.

I’m a little fuzzy on the details but  the Windows Team blog states “[the app] will be completely free for windows phone users . . . [and] will let you find, learn more, and control content from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on your Xbox 360.” Which, although unspecific, seems cool enough, but to be honest, I doubt I’ll be buying a windows phone any time soon, especially considering the new, crazy-awesome iPhone with HAL-like artificial intelligence.
